FAQs
What is the cost of a Phase I ESA?
A very common question asked of us is, “How much does a Phase I Environmental Site Assessment (ESA) cost?” The cost of commercially available Phase I ESAs can vary greatly from site to site and from company to company. Ultimately, the cost of each Phase I ESA is a direct result of the complexity of the site; the larger, more complex the site, the greater the effort (and cost to consumer) required to satisfy regulatory and industry requirements. Discounted Phase I ESAs can often be sought out; however, just as the old adage goes — buyer beware, you get what you pay for. Cheap Phase I ESAs often hide hidden costs in inflated Phase II Site Assessment recommendations and significant data gaps which result in supplemental due diligence recommendations.
