VAPOR INTRUSION ASSESSMENT & MITIGATION
The rebirth and redevelopment of formerly industrial portions of our cities and neighborhoods have left a legacy of pollution behind for investors and citizens to deal with. Historical impacts to the subsurface often lead to contaminate vapors migrating from degrading chemicals and volatile compounds beneath the surface to pressurized areas located immediately below building foundations. Without proper planning, vapor intrusion from the subsurface can result in contaminated indoor air.
Concave’s vapor intrusion (VI) studies provide property owners with detailed evaluations and models of chemical constituents located in the subsurface beneath their properties. Our studies can evaluate recommendations provided in a Phase I Environmental Site Assessment or be used to design vapor mitigation systems, such as gas vapor barriers and sub-slab depressurization systems (SSDS).
